How to Group Emails From the Same Sender Together in Gmail

Gmail lets you filter incoming emails in any way you choose. One of the ways you can filter emails is by grouping emails from the same sender together under a label you create. After you create a filter and label for that sender, all existing and future emails from that sender will appear in the navigation menu to the left of your Gmail inbox. You can then view that sender's emails at any time by clicking its associated label.

Step 1

Log in to Gmail and click the small "Create a Filter" link to the right of the search box at the top of the page. This opens a filter creation panel.

Step 2

Click inside the "From" field in the filter creation panel and type the email address of the sender whose emails you want to group together in Gmail. Click the "Next Step" button below.

Step 3

Click inside the "Apply the Label" checkbox to select it, click the adjacent drop-down menu and select "New Label."

Step 4

Type the sender's name in the "Please Enter a New Label Name" field and click the "Create" button below.

Step 5

Click the "Also Apply to the Conversations Below" check box to select it if it appears at the bottom of the filter creation panel and then click the "Create Filter" button.
